Volcanic eruption occurred on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland on Sunday. The eruption, which began on January 14th, experienced a second occurrence, resulting in several small eruptions. Prior to the event, residents were appropriately instructed to vacate the area due to the multiple eruptions and the advancing lava.

A similar incident took place on December 18th of the previous year, with residents given clearance to return on the 22nd of December. As of now, the eruption appears to be subsiding. However, it poses challenges for air travel, and passengers arriving at Keflavik International Airport are advised to check for regular updates.

Various countries have issued travel warnings, and Iceland's renowned Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, a major tourist attraction, was closed on January 12th. It is anticipated to remain non-functional until January 16th.

Travelers and locals alike are urged to stay informed about the evolving situations and follow relevant advisories for their safety and well-being.
